MANILA, August 18, 2010— A workshop aimed to train facilitators on how to utilize the Scriptures effectively in classroom learning, retreats and recollections, and other group activities will be held on September 20-25, 2010 at the Bukal ng Tipan Pastoral Center, Taytay, Rizal.
Called Bibliodrama Facilitators’ training, the workshop is an undertaking of the Episcopal Commission on Biblical Apostolate (ECBA) of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP).
Workshop topics include Bibliodrama elements; preparation for designing modules and liturgies using Bibliodrama elements and ways to discover one’s giftedness as a facilitator and learning the value of community approach in the ministry of the Word.
“This is a five-day in-depth training on the approach of Bibliodrama in Biblical-pastoral ministry,” organizers said.
The bibliodrama approach has gained advocates in the Philippines over the past few years with special emphasis on various elements including reading of the Word, bibliodrama dance, faith-sharing, silence and play.
Bukal ng Tipan is a mission spirituality center for community and practical skills training, retreats and recollections situated in Taytay, Rizal.
Its Bibliodrama series include Basic and Facilitators’ Trainings and the Talitha Kumi Dance Seminar.
ECBA, on the other hand, is the biblical arm of CBCP that is tasked to spread the Word of God in every individual and community. (Kate Laceda)
